FOREST, Va. – The Bridgewater College women's tennis team was picked to finish 11
th in the ODAC Preseason Poll released by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.
Nationally-ranked Washington & Lee took home the top spot with 12 first place votes and 144 points. Averett (129 pts.) got the only other first place vote to come home in second. Sweet Briar (121 pts.) rounded out the podium places, while Shenandoah (101 pts.) and Randolph (100 pts.) wrapped up the top five.
The Eagles begin their first season under
Tyler Carnahan with a large group of rookies led by
Sarah Slagle. BC returns three starters from a season ago in
Emma Staton,
Jolexie Whetzel and
Raea Crabill as well.
Bridgewater women's tennis opens the season on Feb. 27 as Maryville visits the valley.
