FOREST, Va. - The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) announced Tuesday afternoon first year Olivia Morra was awarded the first women's cross country runner of the week award of the season with an impressive start to her collegiate career at Bridgewater.
At the season opener on home soil, Morra rose to the occasion in her first meet. The distance runner finished with a strong time of 15:21.8 at the Eagle Cross Country Challenge in the 4k race among 79 finishers.
As a team, Bridgewater placed second with a total team score of 71 points behind Washington & Lee's impressive total of 20 points. Washington & Lee scored with runners finishing second through eighth in the individual results.
Morra next competes with the squad on Friday, Sept. 12 at the Christopher Newport Cross Country Invitational in Newport News, Va.
