BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Bridgewater College men's cross country team finished first in team scoring at the Bridgewater Cross Country Invitational. This was the first team victory for the Eagles since 2023.
Senior Gabe Miller finished first, clocking a time of 27:16.82. The Covington, Va. Native led the race from the start.
Gavin Diehl finished second with a time of 28:25.66.
Ryder Rose (29:20.18),
Grayson Jacquez (29:28.82), and
Malakai Wettig (29:32.97) finished fifth, sixth, and seventh, respectively to round out the scoring runners for the Eagles. The pack of three was more spread out throughout the race but ran closer as the race progressed.
Brandon Adamson finished ninth, clocking a time of 29:58.45.
Aiden Dumas finished 17
th with a time of 31:46.15.
BC's top five finishers earned them 21 points, good for first place. Hampden-Sydney finished second with 61 points, and EMU finished third with 67 points. Christendom and Mary Baldwin finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
Bridgewater takes a two week hiatus from competition until Friday, Oct. 3, when they compete at the Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pa. The men's 8k begins at 3:15 p.m.
