Box Score 1 ASTON, Pa. - The Bridgewater College women's tennis team swept a Wednesday twin bill with Neumann and Immaculata on the road.
BC opened against Neumann and jumped in front early. The Eagles swept doubles play led by a 6-3 victory by
Sarah Slagle and
Regan Witt at the top spot.
Macy Harris and
Carson Cale picked up a 7-5 victory at No. 2 , while
Kalin Rice and
Aylin Humpherys emerged victorious 6-3 at the No. 3 spot to clinch a 1-0 start in the team score.Â
BC continued to roll as as Witt opened singles play with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 3. Humperys followed suit with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 6, while Harris sealed the team win with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 2. Rice kept the sweep going with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 5, while Slagle added a 6-4, 6-1 victory at the top spot.
Carson Cale wrapped up the 7-0 win with a 6-4, 5-7, 10-8 victory at No. 4.
BC continued to roll against Immaculata. BC clinched the doubles point behind a 6-3 victory from Slagle and Witt at the top spot, while Humpherys and Rice clinched it with a 6-0 victory at No. 3.
Slagle opened singles action with a 6-2, 6-2 win for BC at the top spot. Harris followed suit at No. 2 with a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 2. Rice clinched the team win as she emerged victorious at No. 5 with a 7-6(6), 6-2 win. Cale and Humpherys saw their matches go the distance. Each picked up gutsy victories in the process for the Eagles. Cale won 6-4, 5-7, 10-5 at No. 4, while Humpherys picked up a 7-5, 3-6, 10-5 victory at No. 6 to secure the 6-1 team win.
The Eagles are back in action on Thursday against Trinity Washington.
