How it Happened

  • Despite being unable to score for the opening four minutes of play, Bridgewater notched three goals in the opening stanza. Jack Nugent sparked the run with an unassisted goal with 10:52 left on the clock. Riley Stewart joined in on the action with six minutes remaining to bump the BC lead to two. In the final seconds of the quarter, Wyatt McNamara caused a turnover, collected a ground ball, and found Luke Wendler for the third goal of the contest, and the first point of his collegiate career.

  • The Eagles offense continued the momentum in the early minutes of the second period. After winning the faceoff, Bridgewater ripped three shot attempts before Ryan Linn finally found the crack in the Wildcats defense. Bridgewater recorded five shot attempts over the next two minutes, but were unable to strike gold. After a failed Randolph clear attempt, Jake Wagner scored on an assist from Wendler to give the Eagles their fifth goal of the contest. Soon after, Tristan Lee scored to give the Eagles a 6-0 lead. After a minor penalty was awarded to the Eagles late in the half, Randolph took advantage of the man-up opportunity and scored their first goal of the contest. Bridgewater responded with a goal from Isaac Beals fresh of a Colt Short faceoff win. The Eagles entered the half with a 7-1 lead.

  • Bridgewater struck twice in a 21-second period in the third quarter to push their lead to 9-1. Randolph scored their final goal of the contest with 9:59 remaining in the third period. The Eagles found the back of the net three times before the end of the quarter.
