In the battle of the Eagles, Andrea Lorca put Bridgewater on the board first with 47 seconds elapsed in the game. BC held UMW scoreless until the 7:26 mark when Mary Washington got on the board, leading to an early BC timeout. The game remained scoreless over the following four minutes of game action. Mary Washington broke the silence with three goals in the final 3:45 of action to send Bridgewater into the first break in a 4-1 hole.

Mary Washington scored three early goals in the second quarter to extend their lead to six. Despite their best efforts, Bridgewater was unable to muster a shot attempt in the second quarter. Despite this, they prevented UMW from scoring for nearly 11 minutes. Mary Washington scored twice in the final two minutes of the half to enter the halftime huddle with a 9-1 lead.

Bridgewater made a change in goal for the beginning of the second half, subbing out starter Maisen Jenkins for Addison McDaniel. UMW ripped an early goal to start the half to make it a 10-1 game. Ella Price fired off the first shot attempt for the Eagles since the end of the first quarter two minutes into the third. BC had some good offensive possessions, but were unfortunately able to find the back of the net. UMW pushed their lead to double digits with 6:05 remaining in the third period. Mary Washington scored once more with 3:00 on the clock on an extra woman play to enter the final period with a 12-1 advantage.

Bridgewater outscored the Eagles in blue 2-1 in the final period. Kaylee Gerber played the entire quarter between the pipes for BC. Paige Mayers broke the BC scoring drought on a free position goal with 11:11 on the clock. Mary Washington marked their only tally of the final period with 5:53 remaining after capitalizing on a BC turnover. Despite being down a player, the Eagles in white and crimson found the back of the net once more on a goal from Mayers.

Bridgewater finished their 2026 regular season campaign with a 9-8 record and an even 4-4 record in league play. The Eagles are seeded sixth in the conference tournament and are set to host the seventh-seeded Virginia Wesleyan in the first round on Saturday, Apr. 25.
