Frostburg State held on to defeat Bridgewater College, 2-1, in
non-conference field hockey action Saturday.
Sammy Salter scored off an assist from Brooke Tapman late in the
first half to give Frostburg a 1-0 lead.
The same duo hooked up again just one minute into the second half,
giving the hosts a 2-1 lead.
Brianna Jacques scored for the Eagles with 14:32 left to play, but
Frostburg held BC scoreless the rest of the way to preserve the 2-1
victory.
BC goalkeepper Elizabeth Sullivan finished the contest with seven
saves.
The Eagles are now 4-4 on the season. Frostburg State improves to
7-2.
