FREDERICK, Md. - Jake Griffin
(Vesuvius, Va./Parry McCluer) finished first overall Saturday to
lead Bridgewater College to a first place finish at the Hood
College Invitational.
Griffin finished the 8K course with a time of 27:44.33 as the
Eagles place first in the 13-team field. Bridgewater placed its top
five runners in the top 11 to runaway with the team title.
Paul Johnson
(Harrisonburg, Va./Turner Ashby) and Ryan Speray (Gloucester,
Va./Gloucester) finished sixth and seventh for the Eagles. Johnson
finished with a time of 28:40.47 with Speary close behind at
28:45.52.
Brian
Barnett (Winchester, Va./John Handley) placed ninth with a time
of 28:49.67 while Jordan White (Union
Bridge, Md./Francis Scott Key) rounded out the scoring with a time
of 28:56.81 to finish 11th overall.
