Box Score CRESSON, Pa. – Bridgewater's Aaron Adams, Ed Reddick and Marcus Curry combined for 62 points Thursday night to lead the Eagles to their first victory of the season, 72-66, over Mount Aloysius.
Adams led the way with a career-high 27 points and Curry had the first double-digit game of his college career with 16. It was also a milestone night for Reddick as he scored 19 points to surpass the 1,000 point mark for his career.
Adams and Curry carried the Eagles offense in the opening half as the duo combined for 22 of Bridgewater's points. Adams led the way with 14 and Curry added eight. Reddick was the only other Eagle to score as he netted four points.
Buckets by Curry and Adams gave the Eagles a 15-12 lead at the 11:55 mark, but the Mustangs reeled off the next eight points to lead 20-15.
Mount Aloysius took its biggest lead with 4:55 remaining when Nolan Doyle converted a three-point lead for a 27-19 Mustangs lead.
Curry scored the next two buckets for the Eagles, one on an offensive rebound and the second on a floater in the lane, to pull Bridgewater to within four 27-23.
Thomas converted an offensive board into two points for the Mustangs before Adams scored the final three points of the half to trim the Mount Aloysius lead to 29-26 at the half.
The Eagles fell behind by eight early in the second half but used an 11-0 run to take the lead. Adams scored five points and Reddick added a three-point play to knot the score at 36-36. Keonte Dennis hit one foul shot and Curry drilled a 17-footer for a 39-36 Bridgewater lead.
The Eagles maintained the lead until the six minute mark when the Mustangs forged ahead by a point, 54-53. Reddick then hit four straight foul shots and Adams added two from the line to put the Eagles back on top 59-54.
A bucket by the Mount's Tanner Thomas trimmed the margin to three, but a 15-footer by Reddick and a 3-pointer by Curry gave the Eagles a 64-56 lead with four minutes left.
The Eagles led by nine on a Reddick free throw, but a 3-pointer by Dillon Bender pulled the Mustangs to within six, 67-61, with two minutes left.
Bridgewater held on down the stretch despite making just 4-of-12 free throws in the final two minutes to close out the non-conference victory.
