BRIDGEWATER, Va.- Bridgewater College hosted day one of the 2018 ODAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday.
Jamie Hiegel won the men's 10,000 meters and broke the ODAC Championships meet record with a time of 31:44.88.
Max Weidman picked up third place in the men's 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:56.25.
Davonta Womack qualified for the 100 meter final with a prelimary time of 11.64. Alex Galloway was also a finalist in the 200 meters (22.17) and 400 meters (49.71).
Chase Rosenthal (15.57), Elijah Waters (16.05), and John Gieseler (16.62) all were finalists in the 110 meter hurdles.
Christopher Moore also qualified for the 400 meter hurdle finals (57.92).
The Eagles were spectacular in field events on Friday, with a win in every event on the day.
BC had the top three spots in the men's high jump in Ryan Shepard, Rashon Davis, and Brandon Christian with marks of 1.97m (6'5.50"), 1.94m (6'4.25"), and 1.91m (6'3.25"), respectively.
Womack finished with a win in the long jump with a leap of 6.91m (22'8").
The Eagles won again in the men's hammer when Prescott Terrell finished first with a mark of 51.45m (168'9").
Finally, Chris Wolfgang and Corey Huffman were first and second in the shot put- Wolfgang first at 14.40m (47'3") and Huffman second at 13.77m (45'2.25").
The Eagles finish day one in the top spot, leading all teams with a score of 97 points.
Day two of the 2018 ODAC Track and Field Championships continues tomorrow with events beginning at 10:00 a.m.
