BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Bridgewater College IHSA team placed third out of 12 teams this past weekend at the Virginia Tech show.
Goucher and Hollins tied for the top spot with 41 points. Washington and Lee was second with 39 points followed by Bridgewater with 33 points. The Eagles finished just ahead of Emory & Henry, the IHSA defending national champions, and Sweet Briar College who tied for fourth place. Other schools competing were Lynchburg, Virginia Tech, Ferrum, Radford, UNC-Ashville and Western Carolina University.
Starting the day, Walter Robb rode Deuce to a second place in the Introductory Division. Caroline Warren picked up two third-place finishes, one with Blake over fences the other with Fingurio on the flat, both in the Open Division. Next up was Alison Segura on Bunny, riding to a second place in Intermediate Flat. Connor Poe rode Kwil to a fourth place in the Intermediate Fences Divison. Limit on the Flat had Haely Partlow ride Aegis to a fourth place. Aiden Daly rode Murphy to a second place in Limit Fences. Lily Thousand made her IHSA debut in the Novice on the Flat Division, riding Baxter to a third place.
