LEXINGTON, Va – The Bridgewater College men's track & field team kicked off its outdoor at the Washington and Lee Track and Field Carnival.
The Eagles started the day with the field events where
Mike Smith took first in the hammer throw throwing for 51.52m placing himself fourth on the Eagles all-time list and setting a new outdoor personal best.
Tony Nesslerodt notched a third-place finish throwing for a mark of 43.46m.
In the long jump,
Kyle Clanton set a new outdoor personal best jumping for a mark of 6.81m grabbing third in the event. Right behind him was
Aaron Moon who notched fourth in the event jumping for a distance of 6.71m and setting a new outdoor personal best as well.
Mason Lawhorne set a new outdoor personal best in the long jump with a mark of 5.74m
.
Trey Birchett set a new personal best in the high jump leaping for a mark of 1.81m grabbing himself a sixth-place finish.
Conner Mackey also set a new personal best with a leap of 1.81m finishing eighth.
Lawhorne set a new personal best with a mark of 1.81 as well.
On the track,
Bowen Varney finished 11
th in the 1500m for the Eagles with a time of 4:15.61.
Gabriel Miller set a new outdoor personal best in the event with a time of 4:23.40.
Ryder Rose set a new personal best in the 1500m with a time of 4:31.49.
Anthony Cadle finished the 5000m with a new outdoor personal best time of 15:53.34.
Jacob Gregory set a new outdoor personal best as well running for a time of 16.24.29.
Caleb Bradley set a new outdoor personal best in the 5000m with a time of 17:38.22.
The Eagles are back In action tomorrow for day two of the Washington and Lee Track & Field Carnival.
