BRIDGEWATER, Va – The Bridgewater College men's track and field team wrapped up day two of ODAC Championship competition at the Jopson Athletic Complex.
The day started off in the jump pits where Anthony Matthews took home silver in the triple jump with a new personal best mark of 13.66m (44' 9¾").
Euan Spikers secured silver in the javelin throw with a personal best launch of 48.71m (159' 9"). Caleb Palacios set a new personal record in the event recording a mark of 42.10m (138' 1"). Da'Shawn Wilson also set a new personal best with a throw of 33.02m (108' 4").
Peter Fulton secured gold in the discus throw with a mark of 47.57m (156' 1"). Jake McNutt followed right behind grabbing silver with a new personal best distance of 44.29m (145' 3"). McNutt's mark fourth on the Eagles all-time list. Bryce Hoffman set a new PR with a heave of 39.93m (131' 0").
Easton Repko finished the pole vault with a height of 3.91m (12' 10").
On the track, the squad of Cy Alderman, Kaegan Avalos, Kyle Clanton and Trey Birchett secured bronze in the 4x100m run posting a time of 42.12 seconds.
Bennett Cupps finished the 1500m run in seventh with a time of 4:07.14. Bowen Varney posted a time of 4:13.93. Gabe Miller set a new PR with a time of 4:19.14. Jack Donavan ran for a time of 4:27.25.
Tyler Johnson set a PR in the 110m hurdle finals running for a time of 16.99 seconds.
Avalos finished the 400m finals posting a time of 49.07 seconds.
In the 100m finals, Kyle Clanton grabbed silver running for a time of 10.68 seconds.
Bowen Varney posted a time of 2:03.01 in the 800m run. Calvin Hulleman ran for a time of 2:09.09 in the event.
In the 200m finals, Kyle Clanton secured yet another silver medal posting a new personal best and school record time of 21.44 seconds.
The squad of Alderman, Avalos, Clanton, and Birchett grabbed fifth in the 4x400m with a time of 3:27.52.
The Eagles finished third overall with a score of 127. Lynchburg (175) took home the team title followed by Washington and Lee (150) to round out the top three.
