YORK, Pa. - The Bridgewater College swimming teams busted open action on day one at the York College Spartan Splash Invitational with dominant performances Friday.
The women's swimming team ran up the scoreboard on the first day of competition, beginning the invitational with a first-place finish of 254 total points.
The Eagles had 13 individual finalists advance past the preliminaries including finals winners in the 200 freestyle relay, the 500 free, and the 400 medley relay.
Junior Grace Warren stood atop the leaderboard in the 500 freestyle with a strong time of 5:10.35 in the 25-meter pool at York College Natatorium.
Freshman Mia Flory shined, taking the B final with a ninth-place finish in the 50 backstroke with a 25.38 time. To add onto the winning ways of Bridgewater swimming, sophomore McKenna Curry broke the program record in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:12.96.
To round out the night, the Eagles hit the finish marker first in the 400 medley relay (Warren, Peyton Lawrence, Curry, Rory Cantwell) which would secure a new program record of 4:03.11.
Bridgewater continues action tomorrow, Nov. 23 for day two at the Spartan Splash Invitational, set to begin at 11 a.m.
