GREENSBORO, N.C. - Bridgewater College women's swimming exploded at the ODAC championships earning impressive times and making history for the program in the event conclusion Saturday at Greensboro Aquatic Center.
There were seven school records broken along with an impressive run by freshman Tessa Gorby. Gorby etched her name in the record books as the first women ever to be awarded ODAC Rookie of the Year while also winning an ODAC title in the 50-yard freestyle. In addition to the conference awards, Grace Warren was awarded the Bonnie Kestner Sportsmanship Award.
The women finished in fifth place in the team standings with 310 points. Washington & Lee were crowned ODAC champions with 840 points.
Highlighting the final day of conference championships was Tessa Gorby. Gorby finished second in the 100-yard freestyle finals and set a new program record in the prelims at a time of 52.30.
The women placed 6th in the 400-freestyle relay to close out the finals with a final time of 3:45.67 with McKenna Curry, Nelle Hines, Whitney Speeks, and Grace Warren.

Tessa Gorby finished second in the 100 freestyle with a new program record set in the morning of 52.30.
Peyton Lawrence went a season best time in her 200-breast placing 7th with a final time of 2:27.65.
McKenna Curry placed 10th in the 200 fly with a 2:16.93 while Nelle Hines finished 14th with a 2:32.66.
The women placed 6th in the 400 freestyle relay with a final time of 3:45.67- McKenna Curry, Nelle Hines, Whitney Speeks, and Grace Warren
Women finished 5th with 310 points.

Prelims
McKenna Curry broke the school record in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 58.70.
Finals
In the 200-medley relay; Grace Warren, Peyton Lawrence, McKenna Curry, and Tessa Gorby impressed the field with a blazing time of 1:48.31, setting a new program record. The relay team placed fifth.
Grace Warren also scored high in the A finals of the 100-yard backstroke for a fifth-place finish and a time of 59.27.
Tessa Gorby set a new program record in the 200 free taking second place in the event with a strong time of 1:55.26.
McKenna curry set a new program record in the 100 fly finishing 5th with a 58.45. Nelle Hines finished 16th with a 1:04.79
Anabelle Dragan followed with a 9th place finish and personal best time of 4:54.95
Peyton Lawrence finished 12th with a 1:08.52 in the 100 breaststroke
Whitney Speeks finished 12th in a 1:03.12 and Mia Flory finished 14th with a 1:03.73

Tessa Gorby broke the 50 free record this morning with a time of 23.75.
Finals
In the 200-yard freestyle relay; Tessa Gorby, Mia Flory, Nelle Hines, and Whitney Speeks broke out the night session with a fourth-place finish. The relay team swam a program record time of 1:38.42.
Grace Warren found a way to slide into the A finals in the 500 free, rolling out a time of 5:17.16.
Gorby cruised by the competition in the 50 free, for a leading time of 23.74; which broke the program record she set earlier in the prelims.
The women closed out the night in program record fashion with a scorching time of 3:59.59 in the 400-medley relay. The relay team of Grace Warren, Peyton Lawrence, McKenna Curry, and Tessa Gorby placed fifth.

800 freestyle relay; Grace Warren, Tessa Gorby, Anabelle Dragan, and McKenna Curry finished fifth with time of 7:57.26
