SWEET BRIAR, Va. - Bridgewater College women's swimming took down Hampden-Sydney and Sweet Briar in a tri-meet at Sweet Briar, totaling 384 points Saturday.
The women put together a dominant performance in the pool topping the leaderboard in 13 events, while Maddy Gundler earned three gold-medal finishes with impressive times to show for it.
Gundler won in the 800 freestyle posting a personal best time of 10:48.60. Later, Gundler won the 200 butterfly (2:51.91).
The Eagles went on take 1,2 in the 200 medley relay with Grace Warren, McKenna Curry, Nelle Hines, and Rory Cantwell as the top team hitting the board at 2:20.60.
Then, in the 50 freestyle, Abby Martin took first in a personal best time of 29.25 with McKenna Curry right behind for another personal best, 29.46. Also highlighting the meet, the 100 freestyle trio swept as Warren placed first for a personal best (1:04.58), Peyton Lawrence second (1:08.32), and Hines third (1:08.34).
In the 400 freesyle, Melia Ross and Mia Flory took home first and second confidently, with 5:08.47 and 5:27.22 finishes, respectively.
Soon after, to round out the night, the Eagles secured first in the 400 freestyle relay with Flory, Annabelle Dragan, Beatriz Macario Molina, and Gundler posting a 4:35.44 finish.
