LYNCHBURG, Va. - Bridgewater College women's swimming fell to Lynchburg on the road by a score of 176-86 Saturday afternoon.
Annabelle Dragan shined, despite the team falling in the first head-to-head matchup of the season. Dragan won the 1,000y freestyle with a solid time of 11:48.77. The junior swimmer then followed that up with a win in the 200 backstroke, clocking 2:19.29. In relays, Dragan led off in the 200 Free "B" relay for a 27.43 split.
Also placing with a strong time for the women was McKenna Curry. Curry took second in the 200y butterfly with a time of 2:24.28.
Freshman Tessa Gorby showed out in her first collegiate dual meet, winning in the 50 Free with an impressive time of 24.98. Also competing in the 50 Free was Mia Flory who placed fifth.
Shortly following, Gorby landed a winning time in the 100 Free for a time of 56.41.
To round out the day, Grace Warren led the way in the 500y Free, recording a time of 5:38.10.
