BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Bridgewater College baseball team has been slotted in the top 10 of the national Division III polls this week for the second time this season with a No. 9 ranking in D3baseball.com, a No. 7 ranking in ABCA, and a No. 8 ranking in NPI.
The Eagles finished last week with a 3-1 record with a doubleheader sweep over Guilford and a 15-6 win over Mary Baldwin. Their lone loss came against No. 4 Shenandoah.
Last week, Chandler Valbak had a hot bat, sizzling eight RBIs for the week with three each against Guilford. He went 9-for-18 at the plate.
Evan Bert continued his strong pitching with a career-high outing of 12 strikeouts against Guilford. He dropped his ERA to 4.05 and earned his sixth win of the season.
Bridgewater has three games on deck with a game on Tuesday, April 14 against Marymount, Wednesday against EMU, and Saturday for senior day against No. 2 Lynchburg in a doubleheader.
