BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Bridgewater College baseball team continues to climb the rankings in this week's national polls as the Eagles rank No. 9 in D3baseball.com, No. 6 in ABCA, and No. 3 in NPI.
Last week, the Bridgewater Eagles had a pair of dominating wins with a 21-4 win over EMU and a 19-0 shutout over nationally recognized Randolph-Macon. Bridgewater completed the week 3-1 following a loss against Mary Washington earlier in the week falling 3-0.
With the strong wins, the Eagles moved up in the conference standings to the third slot, with an overall record of 23-5 and an ODAC record of 7-4.
Ahead of the Crimson & Gold are the No. 2 Lynchburg Hornets in first with a conference record of 9-0-1 and No. 5 Shenandoah in second with a 10-4 record in ODAC play.
Heading into the week, Bryce Suters holds the third-most RBIs this season in the conference recording 44 RBIs while maintaining the third best batting average of .441. On the mound, Cam Nuckols is tied for the most innings pitched this season in the conference with 48 and has compiled a 3.38 ERA (sixth best).
This week's matchups feature No. 5 Shenandoah on Tuesday, April 7 at home, Mary Baldwin on Wednesday, April 8 at home, and Guilford on Saturday, April 11 in a doubleheader.
