BRIDGEWATER, Va. – Bridgewater's
men's tennis team picked up its second Old Dominion Athletic
Conference (ODAC) win of the week sweeping the visiting Guilford
Quakers by a 9-0 tally.
In singles play, the two teams played a shortened format at
numbers one through three as the Eagles cruised to a trio of
victories over Guilford.
At number one, senior Chris Radke rolled up his 42nd
career victory with a hard-fought 8-6 victory over Will
Mason-Deese.
Freshman Peter Hawkins continued his dominance at number two
with an 8-0 victory, while junior Brad DeWitt was an 8-4 winner at
number three.
Junior Teddy Callow turned in a 7-6 (4), 6-1 victory at number
four before sophomore Brent Floyd earned a 6-1, 6-1 straight sets
win at number five.
Freshman Martin Donaire wrapped up singles play with a 6-2, 6-3
victory at number six.
In doubles action, the tandem of Radke and DeWitt turned in a
9-7 victory in the tightest match of the doubles slate.
Callow and Hawkins earned an 8-2 victory at number two, while
Floyd and Donaire won by an identical 8-2 score at number three.
Bridgewater is back in action on Tuesday when it travels to
Averett with the matchup against the Cougars being slated for a
3:00 p.m. start.
