BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Bridgewater
College stayed close for a half Saturday before the Randolph-Macon
Yellow Jackets pulled away for a 16-7 ODAC victory.
Kelly Egan put the visitors on the board first, but Megan Bach
countered for the Eagles to tie the score at 1-1 with 24:32 left in
the opening half.
The Yellow Jackets then reeled off four unanswered goals to lead
5-1. Leslie Crawford tailed for the Eagles to make it 5-2 before
goals by Emily Kent and Elyse Cooper put the Yellow Jackets on top
7-2 with 6:54 left in the half.
Bridgewater held Randolph-Macon scoreless for the remainder of
the half and the Eagles scored twice in the final minute on goals
by Kate Moulton and Caitlin Costello to trail 7-4 at the break.
Randolph-Macon quickly regained control followed the halftime
break, scoring the first four goals of the second half to open up
an 11-4 lead.
Crawford and Moulton scored two goals each to lead the
Bridgewater attack and goalkeeper Colleen Schwind finished the day
with 16 saves.
Erin Clare Cassidy and Kelly Cramer led the Yellow Jacket attach
with four goals apiece. Cassidy also added two assists.
The Eagles are now 4-4 overall and 0-3 in the ODAC.
Randolph-Macon is 3-0, 1-0 in the conference.
