WINCHESTER, Va. – Bridgewater's
men's tennis has yet to drop a match on the young season as
the squad dismantled Shenandoah by a 9-0 tally in out-of-conference
action at the Lowery Tennis Courts.
In singles play, senior Chris Radke notched his 39th career
victory with a 6-1, 6-1 straight sets victory at the number one
post over Michael Milanov.
Freshman Peter Hawkins and junior Brad DeWitt kept things rolling
for the Eagles as the tandem won at number two and three singles,
respectively, by the same 6-0, 6-0 tally.
Shenandoah would only take two games from the Eagles in the final
three matches as BC swept the four through six spots to take all
six matches in singles play, effectively winning the match.
In doubles action, Radke and DeWitt teamed up to take down Milanov
and Tim Lutz by an 8-3 margin.
At number two and three doubles, BC didn't allow the Hornets
to win a game as the Eagles cruised to a pair of 8-0 victories.
BC moves to 2-0 on the young season and is next in action on
Saturday when the squad travels to Methodist.
