BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Greensboro College pounded
out 18 hits Friday afternoon and defeated the Bridgewater College
Eagles, 8-3 in non-conference baseball action.
The Eagles got on the board first on Kevin Kirk's solo homer in
the bottom of the first inning, but that would be Bridgewater's
only run until the eighth.
Greensboro's Taylor McDonald held the Eagles scoreless until the
eighth when the Eagles nicked him for a pair of runs on Andrew
Hacker's two-run single. The hit was too little, too late as the
Pride finished off the 8-3 victory.
Greensboro's 18-hit attack was powered by homers from Tyler
O'Neill in the second, a solo shot, and Logan Beasley in the
fourth, a two-run blast.
The Eagles dropped to 3-6 on the season while the Pride improved
to 4-6.
The Eagles return to action on Saturday at Hampden-Sydney for an
ODAC twinbill. First pitch is set for noon.
