BRIDGEWATER, Va. – In an ODAC showdown with Randolph-Macon at the BC Tennis Courts, the Bridgewater Eagles men's tennis team took down the visiting Yellow Jackets by an 8-1 tally.
Bridgewater swept the doubles matches by 8-2, 8-3 and 8-4 scores to jump out to a 3-0 lead over the visiting Yellow Jackets.
In singles play, the Eagles won the first five matches before dropping the showdown at number six to wrap up the match with an 8-1 victory.
At number one, Peter Hawkins was a 6-0, 6-1 winner, while Brad DeWitt earned a 6-2, 6-1 win at number two.
Teddy Callow claimed a 6-0, 6-1 win at number three, before Brent Floyd posted a 6-1, 6-1 win at number four.
Finally, Tim Gower was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at number five to round out the wins for the Eagles.
Bridgewater is back in action tomorrow, Friday March 18 when Gettysburg comes to the BC Tennis Courts.
