GREENSBORO, N.C. – Bridgewater's men's tennis team fell behind after doubles play, before the Eagles roared back with four wins in singles action to come away with a tight 5-4 win over the host Guilford Quakers.
Bridgewater got its lone win in doubles play at number two when Brent Floyd and Brad DeWitt took home an 8-4 triumph.
In singles action, Guilford took a 1-6, 7-5, 6-1 triumph at number one, before the Eagles rattled off four straight victories to clinch the team victory.
At number two, DeWitt was a 6-0, 4-6, 7-5 winner, before senior Teddy Callow took a 6-1, 1-6, 6-4 win at number three.
Floyd kept things rolling for the Eagles in another tight matchup at number four. Floyd was a 6-1, 4-6, 7-6 (8-6) victor, before the Eagles wrapped up the match with Tim Gower's 6-1, 6-1 victory at number five.
Bridgewater is back in action on Monday, March 7 when the team takes on Wilkes in Hilton Head, S.C.
