BRIDGEWATER, Va. – After falling behind by a match after doubles play, the Bridgewater Eagles men's tennis rattled off five straight wins in singles play to cruise to a 6-3 victory over Wilkes in Hilton Head, S.C.
In doubles action, Brad DeWitt and Brent Floyd continued to roll, taking an 8-4 victory at number two to claim the Eagles' lone victory in doubles play.
Sophomor Peter Hawkins got things rolling in singles play, taking a 6-2, 6-1 win at number one before DeWitt claimed a 6-2, 6-0 win at number two.
Teddy Callow cruised at number three by a 6-2, 6-4 tally, before Floyd rolled to a 6-2, 6-3 win at number four.
Finally, Tim Gower took a hard fought three-set victory at number five by a 4-6, 6-2, 10-5 margin.
Bridgewater is back in action on Wednesday when the team takes on Defiance at 4:00 p.m.
