LYNCHBURG, Va. - In an Old Dominion Athletic Conference matchup at Randolph, the Bridgewater Eagles men's tennis team over matched the host WildCats en route to a 9-0 conference victory.
In doubles action, Brad DeWitt and Teddy Callow got things rolling with an 8-4 win in the closest doubles match of the day before the Eagles rolled to 8-0 and 8-3 wins at number two and three.
Sophomore Peter Hawkins rolled to his third straight victory with a 6-1, 6-1 win at number one to open things up in singles play before DeWitt claimed a 6-0, 6-2 win to post his 11th win of the Spring.
Junior Brent Floyd earned a 6-0, 6-1 win at number three to pick up his ninth win in ten matches and his team-leading 12th triumph of the Spring.
Callow matched Floyd's 6-0, 6-1 win at number four, before senior Tim Gower rolled at number five by a 6-0, 6-0 tally.
Finally, sophomore Matthew Chaulklin was a 6-1, 6-2 winner at number six, wrapping up the 9-0 shutout win over the WildCats.
Bridgewater, now 10-6 overall and 5-2 in conference play, is back in action tomorrow, Thursday, April 7 when the team travels to ODAC foe Roanoke.
