AMHERST, Va. - The season ended for the Bridgewater College men's tennis team Saturday afternoon with a 5-0 loss to Washington and Lee in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) semifinals.
The Generals swept the three doubles matches, but the No. 1 and No. 2 flights where closely contested.
At No. 1 doubles, W&L's Taylor Shamshiri and Michael Holt edged Christian Lynn and Mike Cable, 8-6. The Generals duo of Christopher Hu and Sam Borowsky stopped Kyle Hartfield and Thomas Rishcoff by the same 8-6 margin. At No. 3 W&L's Jordan Krasner and John Kirby had an easier time with an 8-1 win over Drew Hubble and Aaron Snook.
Washington and Lee picked up the two singles wins it needed to close out the match at No. 3 and No. 4. Hu stopped Rishcoff 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 3 flight while Krasner stopped Cable 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 for the final 5-0 margin.
Bridgewater finished the season with a 12-10 record - the fifth consecutive season the program has recorded at least 12 victories.
