Men's Tennis Loses At W&L

LEXINGTON, Va. - Washington and Lee defeated the Bridgewater College Eagles, 9-0, Tuesday afternoon in ODAC men's tennis action.

The Eagles pushed the Generals in the first two doubles matches, but came up just short in each one.

At No. 1 doubles, Joe Dillenbeck and Josh Rodgers lost a tough 8-6 decision to W&L's Will Bannister and Charlie Kittredge. W&L's Thomas Harmon and Mac Zheng held off Kyle Hartfield and Thomas Rishcoff, 8-5, to win at No. 2.

At No. 3, the Generals duo of Mitchell Thomas and Jordan Krasner turned back Nathaniel Horner and Freddie Roberts 8-3.

The Generals won all six singles matches in straight sets.

At the top of the ladder, Krasner defeated Hartfield 6-2, 6-0. Bannister turned back a solid effort by Dillenbeck to win the No. 2 singles match 6-3, 6-4.

Zach Ely took the No. 3 flight with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Rodgers and Zheng defeated Horner 6-1, 6-4 to win at No. 4.

At No. 5, Thomas defeated Emmett Johnson 6-1, 6-2 while Harmon stopped Rodgers 6-2, 6-4 at No. the No. 6 slot.

The Eagles are now 5-4 overall and 2-1 in the ODAC. W&L, ranked No. 33 in the nation, improved to 9-4 overall and 6-0 in the conference.
