Men's Tennis Blanks Shenandoah

WINCHESTER, Va. - Bridgewater College evened its ODAC men's tennis record at 5-5 with a 9-0 victory Wednesday afternoon at Shenandoah.

The Eagles took control from the start by sweeping the doubles action.

Nicholas Kiser and Robert Williard scored the first point for the Eagles with an 8-1 victory at No. 3 over Kyle Denning and Nick Powers. Freddie Roberts and Sonet Gandhi won at No. 2 with an 8-2 decision over Brenton Baugh and Kyle Apgar. Canon Secord and Matthew Gordon completed the sweep with an 8-4 victory over Darian Diaz and Bryan Harris at the No. 1 doubles position.

Bridgewater swept singles play, winning each match in straight sets.

Roberts was first off the court in singles with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Baugh at No. 4. Kiser scored the clinching point with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Denning at the No. 5 position.

Secord won at No. 1 singles with a 6-3, 6-0 decision over Diaz. Gordon rolled past Harris 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 while Gandhi stopped Apgar 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3 singles. Tyler Kolaskie finished off the shutout by holding off Powers 6-3, 7-5 at No. 6 singles.
