BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Bridgewater College men's tennis team opened its season Wednesday with a 4-0 victory over Mary Baldwin in a non-conference match.
In the lone doubles match contested, Canon Secord and Matthew Gordon blanked Mary Baldwin's Geddy Bartosch and Connor Lindhjem 8-0 at the No. 1 position.
The Eagles swept the three singles matches to complete the shutout.
Secord blanked Lindhjem 6-0. 6-0 at No. 1 singles and Gordon stopped Bartosch 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 2 slot. At No. 3 singles, Bridgewater's Nick Kiser defeated Christian Schultz 6-0, 6-0.
The Eagles return to action on Saturday when they travel to Virginia Wesleyan for the ODAC opener.
