BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Bridgewater College defeated Ferrum, 9-0, Monday afternoon in ODAC men's tennis action.
Matthew Gordon and Gabe Elder were first off the courts in doubles play with an 8-0 victory over Jacob Glass and Jacob Grady at the No. 2 slot. BC's Canon Secord and Nick Kiser defeated Jose Villacis and Patrick Marsh 8-2 at the No. 1 position. Leyton Pullin and Bryce Cline completed the sweep with a close 8-6 victory at No. 3 over David Bishop and Dakota McDaniel.
The Eagles clinched the team victory with wins at No. 4 and No. 6 singles, both by the identical 6-0, 6-0 score. Elder defeated McDaniel at No. 4 and Cline stopped Grady at No. 6.
Secord turned back Villacis 6-4, 6-1 at No. 1 singles while Gordon took the point at No. 2 with a 6-3, 7-5 win over Marsh. Kiser won the point at No. 3 by winning 6-1, 6-0 over Glass and Pullin took the point at No. 5, defeating Biship 6-1, 6-1.
The Eagles improve to 5-7 overall and 3-6 in the ODAC.
