LEXINGTON, Va. - Top-seeded Washington and Lee defeated Bridgewater 5-0 Sunday afternoon in the quarterfinals of the ODAC men's tennis tournament.
The Generals lost just two games in sweeping the three doubles flights.
Harry Kittredge and Connor Coleman defeated Bridgewater's Canon Secord and Nick Kiser 8-1 to win at No. 1 doubles. At No. 2, W&L's Noah Tapp and T.J. Rudden blanked Matthew Gordon and Gabe Elder 8-0. Josh Rassin and Tye Loan completed the Generals' sweep with an 8-1 victory at No. 3 doubles over Leyton Pullin and Bryce Cline.
W&L took victories at No. 2 and No. 6 singles to complete the sweep. Tapp downed Gordon 6-0, 6-1 to win the point at No. 2 while Rassin downed Cline 6-0, 6-1 to win at No. 6.
The remainder of the matches were not finished. At No. 1 singles, Secord was leading Coleman 6-3, 0-4 when the match was halted. Elder had won the first set at No. 4 singles over Jonathan Molner before play was halted.
Bridgewater finishes the 2021 season with a 6-8 record.
