ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – The Bridgewater College baseball team opened its season at No. 19 N.C. Wesleyan this afternoon, losing 4-2.

 How It Happened

• After a scoreless three innings, BC got on the board when senior Kevin Navedo doubled to left field, scoring Jeffrey Snider from second who reached on an error.
• In the fifth the Eagles added another run to go up 2-0. Hunter Clever singled to lead off the inning, Jacob Grabeel moved him into scoring position grounding out to third and Jarret Biesecker singled to center to score the run.
• Wesleyan struck back in the sixth inning to cut the score to 2-1 on a homer to left field from Davie Morgan.
• The Battling Bishops added two more runs in the seventh and one in the eighth to take the 4-2 comeback victory.

 Match Notes

• Waring Garber pitched three shutout innings.
• Navedo went 3-5 with an RBI and Biesecker went 2-5 with an RBI.
• Clever went 2-4 and scored one of the Eagles two runs.
• The Eagles totaled 10 hits.
