Box Score BUENA VISTA, Va. -- The Bridgewater College women's lacrosse team outscored Southern Virginia 5-1 in the final period of play to edge out the home side, 16-12, at Knight Stadium, on Tuesday night.

How It Happened
- Bridgewater quickly opened up a 4-0 lead after a pair of goals from Annike Benson and one each from Jenna Entsminger and Ashley Venit.
- Southern Virginia finally got one between the pipes with less than three minutes to go in the first quarter. The Knights had a pair of goals called off earlier in the game.
- The Eagles started the second period with another three-goal run to increase their lead to 7-1 with 11:55 left in the first half.
- SVU was able to trim the deficit down to three after scoring the game's next three goals, which set the halftime score at 7-4 in favor of BC.
- The home side scored quickly to start the second stanza to cut the lead down to 7-5 before Lauren Roberts and Kaity Petersheim added two goals less than 90 seconds apart.
- The Knights took over offensively scoring five of the next six goals and tying the contest at 10-10.
- Madeline Magill netted her second of a game-high four goals to push the Eagles back ahead 11-10, but the lead only held for three minutes as the Knights once again tied the game heading into the final period.
- Entsminger scored nearly 30 seconds into the fourth quarter to elevate the Eagles back into the lead, 12-11, which held for the remainder of the contest. Magill, Roberts and Allison Burris each tallied markers to set the final at 16-12.

- Petersheim and Roberts each recorded three goals in the win, while Roberts also added a pair of helpers to finish with a game-high five points.
