Men's Lacrosse Wins Fourth Straight

FERRUM, Va. – The Bridgewater College men's lacrosse team earned an 18-5 victory in an ODAC contest on the road at Ferrum on Saturday afternoon to extend its winning streak to four games.

How It Happened

  • Bridgewater opened the scoring as Chris Martel notched his first of the game at the 12:15 mark in the first. Trent Cheyney followed 10 seconds later to push the Eagles ahead, 2-0.
  • Bridgewater led the rest of the game despite the Panthers scoring with 10:11 left in the first and led 4-1 after one quarter.
  • Martel started off the second quarter with another goal before Trevor McClelland went back-to-back to set the score at 7-1.
  • The two sides exchanged goals for the remainder of the half to lead 8-3 at the break.
  • Martel scored twice in the third quarter to keep the lead at six goals before the Eagles exploded in the fourth for eight goals to go home with an 18-5 victory.

  • Martel led the game with a career-high nine points off seven goals and two assists.
  • McClelland tallied six goals of his own on seven shots and also picked up four ground balls.
  • Connor McLean recorded six points, as well, with a goal and five assists.
