Box Score BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Bridgewater College men's tennis team fell to No. 35 Washington and Lee 9-0 on Thursday in ODAC action.
The Generals swept doubles action but not without a fight. Senior Matthew Gordon and freshman Mark Gordon battled at the top spot saving match points but eventually fell 6-8.
The oldest Gordon brother continued the fight in singles by jumping out to an early break of serve in the opening set, but Matthew eventually fell 2-6, 2-6.
Freshman Matthew Leonard dug deep as well, coming back in the second set but eventually falling 1-6, 3-6 at the fourth slot.
Senior Leyton Pullin put together a tough effort but met the same fate falling 0-6, 2-6 at No. 5
Noah Hughes saw action in the sixth slot, but was defeated 1-6, 0-6.
The Eagles fall to 5-2 overall and 2-1 in ODAC play. The squad will be back in action hosting Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday in another key ODAC match. First serve is set for 4 p.m.
