LYNCHBURG, Va. -- The Bridgewater College women's lacrosse team fell in ODAC action to Lynchburg, 16-8, on Saturday afternoon.

The Basics

How It Happened

• The Hornets scored less than two minutes in to take an early 1-0 lead, but Kaity Petersheim tied the game less than 30 seconds later at 1-1.
• Petersheim pushed the Eagles into the lead with her second goal of the game with 11:24 left in the first quarter.
• Lynchburg tied the contest 15 seconds later, but BC responded with a pair of goals, one from Lauren Roberts and one from Brooke Hanson, both assisted by Ashley Venit, to take a 4-2 lead.
• The Hornets got one back before the end of the first and the Eagles led 4-3 after 15 minutes.
• Adding on to the goal to end the first, the Hornets mounted a 12-0 scoring run to evaporate the Eagles' lead and take a 14-4 lead that took the game through halftime and into the third quarter.
• Petersheim netted her hat trick goal to end the scoreless draught as the score held at 14-5 into the fourth.
• Lynchburg scored to push the lead back to 10 goals, but three-straight goals cut the deficit down to 15-8 with seven minutes left to play, but the Eagles got no closer as the Hornets held on for a 16-8 win.

• Petersheim finished with three goals, while Allison Burris tallied three points on a goal and two assists.
• Roberts ended the day with a goal and an assist, while Brooke Hanson, Madeline Magill and Jenna Entsminger rounded out the goal scorers.
• Tavin Krick picked up three ground balls, while Julia Frick, Grace Pietro, Entsminger, Melissa Wilson and Kelli Mullen all grabbed a pair of ground balls each. Emily Jencks and Entsminger each caused one turnover.
• Rachael Robinson made 14 saves in the loss.
