FOREST, Va. -- Bridgewater College women's lacrosse players
Kaity Petersheim and
Lauren Roberts repeated as All-ODAC honorees as the league announced the conference listings on Wednesday afternoon.
Petersheim, a native of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, earns a spot on the second team after getting a third-team nod last season. Petersheim was second on the team with 36 goals, 15 assists and 51 points. She also scooped up 17 ground balls and caused eight turnovers. The junior midfielder proved to be a pivotal part of the Bridgewater attack as she registered multi-goal performances in 12 games with six of those being at least three goals. She also pitched in assists in nine games, including four assists to pair with two goals in a 19-7 win against Ferrum. Petersheim was also second on the team with 41 draw controls.
A native of Frederick, Maryland, Roberts lands on the All-ODAC second team, as well, after garnering third team honors last year. Roberts led the Eagles and ranked among ODAC leaders with 60 goals to go with 13 assists. She reached the 60-goal plateau and is the first Eagles to reach that mark since 1998 and just the fifth in recorded team history. She also led the ODAC with 118 draw controls, which broke the school's single-season record for the stat -- a record that Roberts set last season. The junior also became the team's career draw control leader as the only player in Bridgewater history to have over 200 draws. Roberts came down with at least five draw controls in 13 of her 19 games this season, including a single-game record of 16 against Juniata.
The Eagles finished the season at 10-9 to record their first winning season since 2018. The program got the No. 6 seed in the ODAC Tournament and hosted a First Round game, which was the first home postseason contest for the team since 1997. The Eagles prevailed 14-12 over Averett to claim their first postseason home win since 1992.
