WASHINGTON – The Bridgewater College men's track & field team competed in the Cardinal Classic hosted by Catholic University on Saturday.
Mike Smith placed second in the shot put with a 14.58m (47' 10'') toss which is fourth all-time in Eagles' program history and is the top mark in the ODAC.
Jesus Flores saw action in the event throwing an attempt measuring 13.82m (45' 4.25'') which is third best in the conference
Smith also saw second in the weight throw with a heave of 17.19m (56' 4.75'') also a fourth in program's top 10 and replaces the top mark set in the conference also ranks 26th in all Division III.
Tony Nesslerodt picked up fourth in the weight throw hitting the 14.34m (47' 0.5'') mark.
Bennett Cupps earned a podium spot running in the 5,000m run being clocked with a time of 16:14.24 in the event. BC also saw
Anthony Cadle claim a top 10 spot placing eighth (16:57.54) and
Ethan Duncan rounding it out with a tenth-place finish.
Gabriel Miller was timed with a 9:14.63 in the 3,000-meter run to finish fourth in the event while
Aidan Pentel also finished in the top 10 placing eighth in the event.
Bridgewater will travel back north next weekend to compete in the two-day Patriot Games hosted by Division I's George Mason University.
