LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Bridgewater College men's track and field team completed their 2026 regular season slate at the Wildcat Invitational.
Trey Birchett was one of the few BC athletes who competed on Friday. Birchett claimed Bronze in the men's javelin throw with a top mark of 41.35 meters.
Luke Wiliams placed second in the men's discus with a best throw of 41.92 meters. Noah Keller and Bryce Hoffman joined him in the finals, placing fifth and sixth, respectively.
Jesus Flores opened Saturday with a win in the men's shot put with a top throw of 15.22 meters. McKinley Goodbar joined Flores on the podium with a third-place finish after a 13.14-meter throw. Fiell Navarro and Hoffman both made the finals, placing fifth and seventh, respectively.
On his final attempt in the long jump, Ian Browne posted a season best 6.28 meter jump to place sixth.
Walker Knicely was tied for third in the men's pole vault after clearing the 4.40-meter threshold on his first attempt. Knicely was unable to clear the 4.70-meter threshold.
Birchett grabbed a win in the men's high jump after being the only participant to clear 1.95 meters.
The BC throws squad claimed second through sixth in the men's hammer throw. Ryan Duncan led the charge with a top throw of 40.44 meters, Hoffman placed third with a top throw of 39.70 meters. Keller followed with a 39.50-meter throw on his second attempt. Nick Goleno rounded out the top five with a 39.14-meter throw. Goodbar placed sixth with a 38.85-meter throw.
On the track, Ryder rose placed second in the men's 3000-meter steeplechase, clocking a season best time of 10:45.22.
The Bridgewater 4x100-meter relay of Jayden Davenport, Ian Browne, Walker Knicely, and Kyle Galloway placed fourth.
Jayden Brown ran a personal best 14.99 in the men's 110-meter hurdles to place first.
Davenport placed second in the men's 100-meter dash with a 10.81. Davenport ran in the men's 200-meter dash later and placed first with a 22.01-second sprint.
Malakai Wettig placed eighth in the men's 1500-meter run, clocking 4.05.50.
Gabe Wylie and Walker Knicely placed second and third in the men's 400-meter dash, respectively. Wylie led the way with a 49.93-second dash. Knicely crossed the line in 50.41 seconds.
After finishing their regular season slate of meets, the Eagles are scheduled to compete in the ODAC championship meet at EMU, beginning on Friday, Apr. 24. The meet will be streamed live on FloCollege.
