FAIRFAX, Va. – The Bridgewater College men's track & field team finished up The Patriot Games, hosted by George Mason on Saturday, which saw competition from all levels of the NCAA.
Bennett Cupps placed first in his section of the 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:38.23 a time that slots him in fifth place in program history.
Reigning ODAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week Mike Smith placed seventh in the weight throw with a toss of 18.03m (59' 2'') setting a new mark in the ODAC for the season. Smith also took eighth in the shot put with a heave that measured 14.73m (48' 4'') earning another conference best, while Jesus Flores saw 13th place with a throw measuring 14.07m (46' 2'').
Ian Browne grabbed ninth as the sole Eagle competing in the long jump with a leap that measured 6.19m (20' 3.75'').
Bridgewater will head to Lexington, Va. next to compete in the VMI Winter Relays on Feb. 2-3.
