SALEM, Va. – The Bridgewater College women's track & field team took on the first day of the ODAC Indoor Track & Field Championships.

Summer Wallace earned All-ODAC honors in the long jump after getting out to 5.27 meters (17' 3.25'') a mark which puts her sixth in program history. J'Quaycia Brown scored points for the Eagles in the event with a leap measuring 5.25 meters (17' 2.5'') which is good enough for seventh in program history.

Wallace also picked up a point in the high jump successfully clearing 1.51 meters (4' 11.5'')

Brianna Morgan and Abby Mikolay scored points for the Eagles in the weight throw placing sixth and seventh, respectively, in the event. Morgan issued a heave measuring 14.49 meters (47' 6.5'') while Mikolay had a mark of 14.45 meters (47' 4.75'').

Moving to the track, Mackenzie Young picked up third place and was awarded All-ODAC laurels clocking an 18:05.06 finish in the 5,000-meter run. She sets a new personal record with this time and moves to the fourth spot in program history. Emily Smeds took fifth in the event with a time of 18:17.20 setting a new personal record.

Bridgewater is in fourth currently holds the fourth spot with 30 points. Lynchburg is in first with 47 points, Washington and Lee takes hold of the second spot garnering 38 points and Shenandoah takes third with 37 points.

Eagles head right back to the Cregger Center tomorrow for day two of the ODAC Indoor Track & Field Championships beginning at 11 a.m.
