BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Bridgewater women's track and field team competed at the Doc Jopson Track & Field Invitational Saturday.
Abby Mikolay opened the second day of the invitational with a second-place finish in the women's shot put. Mikolay's best throw of 12.60 meters came on her final attempt
Bridgewater's entry in the women's 4x100-meter relay topped the field with a time of 49.26. The relay consisted of Megan Walter as the leadoff, Summer Wallace as the second led, Maddie Watson as the third leg, and Jade Buckles as the anchor.
Olivia Morra placed first in the women's 1500-meter run. Morra crossed the line at the 4:54.61 mark. The freshman also competed in the women's 800-meter run and placed second with a time of 2:24.38.
Watson competed in the women's 100-meter hurdles alongside teammate Olivia Crigger. The two qualified for the final heat with respective third and fourth-place finishes. Watson placed third in the finals with a time of 14.86 seconds. Crigger placed fourth, clocking 15.54.
Buckles and Arianna Jones followed with the women's 100-meter dash. Buckles registered a 12.18-second dash to claim gold at the event. Jones placed eighth, stopping the clock after 13.25 seconds.
Wallace also competed in the women's long jump and placed first with a best jump of 5.29 meters on her fourth attempt.
Anna Dabaghyan, Abby Mikolay, and Brianna Morgan all competed in the final for women's hammer throw. Dabaghyan and Mikolay placed fourth and fifth, respectively. Morgan placed seventh.
The Eagles are scheduled to compete at the Colonial Relay starting on Thursday, Apr. 2 at 11 a.m. The meet is being hosted by William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va.
