FOREST, Va. - Olivia Crigger and Summer Wallace of the Bridgewater College women's track and field team swept the final ODAC track and field athlete of the week awards, annouced by league office Tuesday afternoon.
In the final weekend of regular season meets, Wallace broke the program record in the women's 400-meter dash, clocking 56.84 to claim first in the event. Wallace also claimed gold in the long jump with a best jump of 5.55 meters. Wallace's performances on Saturday earned her field athlete of the week honors.
Crigger also had a strong outing during the weekend to earn track athlete of the week honors, highlighted by her performance in triple jump. Crigger posted a best jump of 11.55 meters to momentarily put her among the top 20 performances in division III. Crigger joined Wallace on the long jump podium after registering a 5.16-meter jump. Crigger ended her campaign at the WildCat invitational with a 15.71 sprint in the 100-meter hurdles.
Wallace, Crigger, and the rest of the Eagles are set to compete at the ODAC championships at EMU starting on Friday, Apr 24. The meet will be streamed on FloCollege.
