LEXINGTON, Va. – The Bridgewater College men's track & field team completed day two of the VMI Winter Relays on Saturday.
Bennett Cupps set a new personal record in the mile finishing ninth with a time of 4:24.75 which is one second from his older record. Cupps also clocked a 1:58.42 in the 800 meter and moved to seventh place in program history and also puts him third in the ODAC.
Gabriel Miller now sits sixth in program history after finishing fifth in the 3,000-meter run and earning a time of 8:59.73.
Kyle Clanton took part in the 200-meter dash sprinting to a 22.82 finish to take 11
th in the event.
Mike Smith finished in sixth place in shot put after slinging the apparatus a total of 14.06 meters (46' 1.50'').
Jesus Flores also saw action in the event giving a heave that measured 12.91 meters (42' 4.25'').
Walker Knicely cleared 3.97 meters in the pole vault to secure third place in the event.
The Eagles will travel to Salem, Va. next Saturday for the Joe LaRocco Invitational, hosted by Roanoke College, starting at 10 a.m.
