BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Bridgewater women's track & field team set several new personal bests at day two of the Doc Jopson Invitational.
Abby Mikolay finished first in the shot put achieving a new outdoor personal best of 12.38 (40' 7.5'') which puts her second in program history. Mikolay is atop the ODAC with the throw.
Brianna Morgan placed fifth in the hammer throw with a heave of 41.04 meters (134' 8'') which moves her up fourth in BC track & field history and puts her sixth in the league. Mikolay also competed in the event recording a mark of 39.14 meters (128' 5'') placing her sixth in program history and eighth in the conference.
Olivia Bates grabbed a new personal best in the 100-meter hurdles finishing with a time of 16.13 giving her fifth in the ODAC.
Summer Wallace moved into the program's top 10 finishing third in the 200-meter run clocking a time of 25.87 putting her in seventh. Wallace now claims the second spot in the conference. Adalia Coleman also took part in the event crossing the line at the 26.50 mark.
Bridgewater finished with a score of 63 points good enough for sixth place. Ithaca won the tournament with 122.33 points, Shenandoah was second with 103 points and Washington & Lee took third with 90 points.
The Eagles return to action on April 5-6 when they travel to High Point, N.C. to compete in the VertKlasse Meeting.
