VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Bridgewater College men's track & field's Mike Smith competed in the weight throw at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships in Virginia Beach, Va.
Smith, a native of Waynesboro, Va., finished 13th recording a toss of 18.02 meters (59' 1.5'') in the preliminary round. The top nine individuals qualified for the finals. The junior thrower was awarded Second Team All-American honors for his performance. Joseph White from Carthage won the event with a throw of 21.64 meters (71' 0'').
The Eagles open their outdoor season at the Washington and Lee Track & Field Carnival scheduled for March 15-16.
