BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Bridgewater College men's track & field team excelled finishing first in the North River Meet on Saturday.
Kyle Clanton finished first in the 100-meter dash and set a new personal record with a time of 10.36. Clanton still claims the second-best time in Eagles' history while jumping to first overall in the ODAC. Clanton also finished first in the 200-meter dash clocking a 21.92 finish.
Cy Alderman and Walker Knicely each cracked a new personal record in the 400-meter dash with times of 50.90 and 50.92, respectively.
Calvin Hulleman scored 10 points for BC after finishing first in the 800-meter runs crossing the line at the 2:00.22 mark which is a new personal record for the sophomore.
The grouping of Kyle Galloway, Clanton, Alderman and Knicely competed in the 4x100 meter relay which saw second clocking a 43.18.
Easton Repko and Knicely tied for first in the pole vault clearing the bar at the 4.08 mark (13' 4.5''). This mark puts them third in the conference.
Clanton also saw time in the field competing in the long jump winning the event with a leap of 6.63 meters (21' 9'') giving him fifth in the league.
Anthony Matthews claimed first in the triple jump getting out to a mark measuring 13.31 meters (43' 8''). This ties his mark set earlier this season at the Washington and Lee Track & Field Carnival which is third best in the ODAC.
Mike Smith finished first in the shot put recording a new personal best heave of 14.84 meters (48' 8.25'') This mark places him fourth all time and gives him second in the conference. Smith also saw first in the discus giving a toss of 45.63 meters (149' 8''). This throw is a new personal best for Smith and still sits fourth in Eagles' history while is second in the league. Lastly, Smith finished second in the hammer throw with a mark of 54.61 meters (179' 2'')
BC claimed first in the meet with 190 points, Shenandoah and Washington and Lee tied for second place each having 95 points.
Bridgewater heads to Baltimore, Md. next Saturday, April 20 for the Hopkins/Loyola Meet starting at 10 a.m.
