BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Bridgewater College women's track & field team saw several top-10 marks be broken as the team competed in the North River Meet on Saturday.
Jade Buckles set a new personal record in 100-meter dash after finishing second with a time of 12.74. Buckles is now tied for 10th in program history and sits ninth in the ODAC.
Olivia Bates took second in the 100-meter hurdles clocking a new personal best time of 15.53 putting her sixth in BC history while giving her eighth in the conference.
The 4x400 meter relay squad consisting of Adalia Coleman, Summer Wallace, Buckles and Bates finished first crossing the line at the 49.73 mark. This time places the team fifth overall in the league.
Moving to field events, J'Quaycia Brown leapt out to a first-place mark of 5.31 meters (17' 5.25'') in the long jump. This gives her a new outdoor best that puts her eighth in the Bridgewater all-time list and places her fifth in the ODAC.
Wallace and Kylah Gray saw second and third, respectively, in the triple jump with marks of 10.33 meters (33' 10.75) and 9.69 meters (31' 9.5'').
Wallace now sits in seventh in the conference in the high jump after clearing the bar at the 1.54-meter (5' 0.5'') mark.
Abby Mikolay won both the shot put and discus throw with tosses measuring 12.80 meters (42' 0'') and 37.02 meters (121' 5''), respectively.
Brianna Morgan competed in the hammer throw recording a mark of 40.25 meters (132' 1'') which gave her fourth in the event.
The Eagles finished third totaling 95 points. Shenandoah claimed first with 173 points and Washington and Lee came in second with 104 points.
Bridgewater returns to action next Saturday as the team travels to Baltimore, Md. for the Hopkins/Loyola Meet with events starting at 10 a.m.
